Assistant Professor or Associate Professor,
Bilingual Education / English as a Second Language

The School of Education at Brooklyn College is accepting applications for a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) with specialization in teaching English language learners and bilingual students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Candidates expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in bilingual childhood education; supervise clinical experiences in public schools and/or community-based afterschool programs; provide leadership in curriculum development for English Language Learners and for the bilingual certification program; and maintain an exemplary research agenda.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a doctorate in education with an academic focus on bilingualism in education and the teaching of language minority students. Minimum three years teaching experience in public schools with English Language Learners required.  Experience in an urban context and the passion to prepare future teachers for culturally diverse, multilingual, inclusive classrooms is essential.

SALARY:
  Commensurate with experience and credentials.

Assistant or Associate Professor, School Counseling

The School of Education at Brooklyn College is accepting applications for a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor in  School Counseling.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates expected to teach graduate level school counseling courses, supervise interns, pursue scholarship and research agenda, participate in curriculum and program development, collaborate with school and agency partners, and serve on department and university committees.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program. Three years school counseling experience in urban public schools required.  Knowledge of current national counselor training standards (CACREP and ASCA) required.
